Overview

This journey follows the stories of Sor Juana, Nahui Olin, Frida Kahlo, Dolores Olmedo, Consuelo Velázquez, Lola Álvarez Bravo, María Izquierdo and Brenda González Nieves through museums, galleries, historic towns and cultural sites.

Itinerary

7 days

Day 1

Sor Juana – Nahui Olin – Frida Kahlo – Dolores Olmedo

Visit López de Quiroga Gallery, MUNAL, the Ex Convent of San Jerónimo, the Woman Museum, Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul and the Dolores Olmedo Museum.

Day 2

Sor Juana – Tlalmanalco / Nepantla

Visit churches and sanctuaries connected to Sor Juana and the Sor Juana Museum at Hacienda Panoaya. Overnight in Nepantla.

Day 3

Tlalmanalco – Mexico City – Guadalajara

Transfer to Mexico City for the flight to Guadalajara, then visit the central square and cathedral.

Day 4

Consuelo Velázquez – Guadalajara – Chapala

Walk the Chapala malecón, visit Lake Chapala and the Church of San Francisco de Asís, then continue to Ciudad Guzmán.

Day 5

Lola Álvarez Bravo – María Izquierdo

Visit Lagos de Moreno, birthplace of Lola Álvarez Bravo, the Cultural House of María Izquierdo and San Juan de los Lagos.

Day 6

The Tequila Woman – San Miguel de Allende

Learn about Casa Dragones tequila and visit the artisan market and San Miguel Archangel Parish.

Day 7

San Miguel de Allende – Mexico City – Departure

Depart to the airport for a connecting flight to Mexico City and onward flight home.
