Overview
Program of 7 nights and 8 days visiting Mexico City and its surroundings, then flying to Chiapas to learn about Tzotzil traditions and the Maya world.
Itinerary
Day 01
Arrival – Mexico City
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel of your selection.
Day 02
Mexico City Tour & Teotihuacán
Visit the National Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral and Zócalo Square. Continue to the Guadalupe Shrine, Three Cultures Square and Teotihuacán. Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 03
Mexico City – Tuxtla Gutiérrez – Sumidero Canyon – San Cristóbal
Fly to Tuxtla Gutiérrez and transfer to the Grijalva River pier for a boat ride through Sumidero Canyon. Continue to San Cristóbal de las Casas. Overnight.
Day 04
San Cristóbal – San Juan Chamula & Zinacantán – Palenque
Early departure to visit Tzotzil communities, then continue to Palenque with a stop at Agua Azul waterfalls. Overnight in Palenque.
Day 05
Palenque – Campeche
Visit the archaeological site of Palenque. Continue to Campeche for the night.
Day 06
Campeche – Uxmal – Mérida
Visit the city of Campeche, transfer to Uxmal archaeological site, then continue to Mérida. Overnight in Mérida.
Day 07
Mérida – Chichén Itzá
Visit Mérida city, then depart to Chichén Itzá. Overnight near Chichén Itzá.
Day 08
Chichén Itzá – Cancún – Departure
Transfer to Cancún Airport for your flight home.
